The Cerro Blanco Producers Association (APROCEB) is a community-driven coffee organization based in La Victoria, within Peru’s San Martín region. Founded in 2020 by a group of local coffee-growing families, the association was established to improve the livelihoods of smallholder producers by creating direct access to specialty coffee markets while promoting sustainable agriculture and higher quality production.
APROCEB is composed of dozens of independent farming families, each managing small coffee farms throughout the mountainous landscape surrounding La Victoria. By working together, members are able to share resources, receive technical training, improve post-harvest processing, and market their coffees collectively. This cooperative model allows producers to achieve greater economic stability than they could individually while maintaining ownership of their family farms.
A central focus of the association is environmental stewardship. Many members practice organic farming methods and cultivate coffee beneath native shade trees, helping preserve the biodiversity of Peru’s Andean-Amazon ecosystem. APROCEB also encourages responsible soil management, water conservation, and long-term sustainability to ensure future generations can continue producing exceptional coffee.
Beyond coffee production, the association invests in the well-being of its members through educational programs, technical assistance, and community development initiatives. Although still a relatively young organization, Cerro Blanco Producers Association has quickly earned recognition within the specialty coffee industry for its commitment to quality, transparency, and collaboration. Today, APROCEB represents the resilience and determination of San Martín’s smallholder coffee producers, demonstrating how community-led partnerships can preserve local traditions while opening new opportunities in the global coffee market.
