What Kenyan coffee tastes like, and why
Kenya built the most rigorous quality system in coffee: meticulous washed processing, careful cultivar work, and an auction that pays real premiums for better cups. The result is a national style — vivid acidity that reads as juiciness, not sourness, over blackcurrant, citrus, and dark sugar.
Our lot, Kenya Kiambu, comes from Spike Farm Estate at 1,930 meters in Kiambu County, where farm manager Moses oversees SL-28 and SL-34 cultivars, washed processing, and drying on raised beds. It cups at 91.5: brown sugar, maple, muscat grape, cranberry, and a clean, juicy finish.

What does Kenyan coffee taste like?

What is Kenya AA coffee?
A size grade, not a farm or flavor: AA is the largest bean screen size in Kenya's grading system. Bigger beans often correlate with density and quality, but the farm, cultivar, and processing matter more than the letters.
