Rukira is a high-elevation washing station, or “factory” as it’s known in Kenya, nestled just below 1,900 meters in the lush Nyeri region. It’s part of the historic Othaya Farmers Cooperative Society—an organization that began in the 1950s with 250 farmers and now represents over 15,000. This particular lot is a peaberry selection, a rare mutation where only one rounded bean develops inside the cherry, prized for its concentrated flavor and dynamic cup.
