Cocoa Beach is the closest beach to Orlando and one of the best-known surf towns on the East Coast, and just to the north Port Canaveral sends cruise ships out several days a week. That puts two crowds in its hotels: beachgoers and surfers who come for the weekend, and cruise passengers who stay the night before they sail. The cafes and restaurants along A1A serve both, and the Space Force base to the south and the space industry to the north keep a workforce in town on weekdays.
