Who buys wholesale coffee in Perdido Key
Perdido Key is condo towers and beach houses along a single road, with the national seashore at one end and the Alabama line at the other. Almost all of it is rental, turned over weekly from spring break through Labor Day by a few management companies, then held through a quieter snowbird winter. The restaurants cluster at the state line and the marina end of the Key, pouring at breakfast for the rental crowd and after dinner for the boat crowd. Most accounts here are a rental manager stocking units and welcome baskets, a restaurant on the Key, or a hotel on the Orange Beach side.
Running a coffee program in Perdido Key
Two things decide a Key account: the season and the state line. We set a snowbird base and a summer quantity and move between them a week at a time, and in-unit coffee should be a sealed portion, because an open bag in a beachfront pantry is flat before the next guest checks in. A management company with units on both sides of the bridge can run one account and take one delivery; we don't split the radius at the county line. A distributor's case was roasted weeks before it was picked; ours was roasted the morning it was delivered.
