Who buys wholesale coffee on 30A
30A is a string of planned beach towns, each built around a small commercial center. Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Grayton Beach and Seagrove each have a cafe or two, a handful of restaurants and a boutique inn, serving a guest who has paid a great deal to be there and expects the coffee to match. Behind the towns, in Santa Rosa Beach proper, are the rental management offices that stock the houses and the churches that serve year-round residents. Most accounts here are a rental manager stocking houses, a town-center cafe, or a boutique inn.
Running a coffee program on 30A
The guest on 30A reads the bag, and a roast date, a farm name and a cup score on the label is a detail that gets noticed. The season is sharper here than in Destin because the winter floor is lower, so we set a small winter base and a summer quantity, with Thanksgiving and Christmas handled as single-order bumps. In-house coffee should be a sealed portion, not an open bag left for the next family. A distributor's case was roasted weeks before it was picked; ours was roasted the week it left.
