Who buys wholesale coffee on the Forgotten Coast
The Forgotten Coast is a string of small towns that never became Panama City Beach, and its coffee demand is scaled to that. Port St. Joe has a working downtown along Reid Avenue with a few cafes, restaurants and a marina. Mexico Beach, rebuilt since 2018, is beach houses and a handful of restaurants. Cape San Blas is almost entirely rental, and Apalachicola is the oyster town, with historic inns and seafood restaurants that draw a weekend crowd year round. Most accounts here are a rental manager on the Cape, a seafood restaurant or downtown cafe, or a historic inn in Apalachicola.
Running a coffee program on the Forgotten Coast
The season is real here but gentler than Panama City Beach, so rental companies run a spring-to-summer quantity and a winter base. The harder problem is distance from everything: a business here can't run out and drive to a supplier, so the right posture is a week of supply kept sealed and cool. A carrier reaches Cape San Blas on the same schedule it reaches Panama City, while a distributor's route puts the Forgotten Coast at the end of a long day, if it comes at all.
