Getting the cart to Birmingham

Around 250 miles each way. A morning event in Birmingham means either a departure in the dark or, more often, a night in town beforehand, and we plan for the second, because a barista who has just driven four hours is not the one you want opening your bar.

On the coast it is often a late-reception station. In Birmingham it is more often a morning or mid-afternoon service inside a scheduled program. Setting up at Birmingham venues

Warehouse and event-hall venues. The easiest rooms we work anywhere. Real power, real water, and usually a dock or service entrance, which turns load-in into minutes instead of trips.

Historic houses and smaller downtown venues. Street-side load-in and older electrical. What is on the outlet matters more here than in a purpose-built event space, and it is worth asking the venue before the date rather than finding out during setup.

Conference centers and hotel ballrooms. Straightforward, with one caveat: in-house catering and the AV crew have claims on the same floor space and often the same power. We settle placement in advance so the cart is not competing for an outlet during a session break.
