Getting the cart to Foley

Around 65 miles, west on I-10 and then south down Highway 59. That last stretch is the funnel every car headed to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach uses, so a summer Saturday afternoon is not the same drive as a Tuesday at seven in the morning. We load earlier for weekend dates rather than arriving tight.

The other half is visitors, but not beach visitors. Youth sports tournaments fill the complexes on weekends and bring families awake and looking for coffee at six. Setting up at Foley venues

Churches and school buildings. The most common Foley setup and usually the easiest. Indoor, level floors, a door wide enough to roll through. Check the circuit. Fellowship halls and cafeterias already run urns, warmers and a refrigerator, and the espresso machine runs best on a 110v outlet that nothing else is drawing on.

Sports complexes and outdoor tournament sites. Access is the whole problem. Field-side service points are often a long way from parking and from any outlet, and that distance changes how we stage. In summer, plan for shade and expect nearly every drink to be iced.

OWA, hotels and conference space. Purpose-built rooms with real power and service entrances. Straightforward, as long as placement is settled with the venue and its in-house catering first.

Fairgrounds and civic buildings. Hard surfaces, which the cart likes. Power runs can be long, so measure from the nearest outlet to where the coffee should sit.

Is a Foley event a beach event?

No, and it is worth being plain about it. Foley is inland, twenty to thirty minutes from the water, so none of the beach logistics apply: no sand, no missing outlets, no access road. If your event is actually on the coast, see Gulf Shores or Orange Beach instead.
